Box Office Results: Doctor Strange 2 Plunges in Second Weekend, Firestarter Flames Out

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness took a 67 percent plunge in its sophomore frame and earned $61 million, enough to top the domestic box office for the second straight week. Though, the steep decline ranks up there with Marvel Studios' worst, namely Spider-Man: No Way Home and Black Widow. Except, Spidey and Black Widow had excuses - the former's second weekend landed on Christmas Eve, while Black Widow was simultaneously released on Disney+ PVOD.

Ortiz, who has worked as an artist on past Marvel Cinematic Universe films like Black Panther , Doctor Strange , and Avengers: Endgame , took to Twitter to share work she did on a poster that was drawn early in the production stages of the sequel.
